One of the most common situations I see isn’t actually denial.

It’s people never applying at all.

I recently talked with someone who had been renting for years because they assumed buying wasn’t realistic for them yet.

They had:

  • some older credit issues
  • student loans
  • and a lot of uncertainty about whether they’d qualify

So they kept waiting.

What surprised them most was that the conversation wasn’t nearly as discouraging as they expected.

Their credit had improved more than they realized. Their income was stable. And there were programs available that fit their situation better than they thought.

They weren’t as far off as they assumed.

That’s why I always encourage people not to count themselves out too early.

You don’t need perfect finances to start a conversation. And talking through options doesn’t mean you’re committing to anything.

Sometimes it simply gives you clarity on what’s possible — and what steps would actually help.

If you’ve been hesitant to ask questions because you’re unsure where you stand, you’re not alone.

And you’re always welcome to reach out.
